Precision Wall Tech is an award-winning, woman-owned painting and wallcovering contractor. Based in the greater Washington, DC area, we deliver stunning finishes that bring your space to life on time and within budget.

We invest heavily in training and developing our skilled, permanent craftsmen, resulting in an average employee tenure of over 10 years.

Meet Our President and Founder

Cindy Athey, President and Owner of Precision Wall Tech, has been a fixture in the DC construction industry for over 40 years. Beginning her career as a field surveyor, she was encouraged by a mentor to start her own company when she established Precision Wall Tech in 1984.

Cindy credits the success of Precision Wall Tech to her outstanding team—some of whom have worked with her for more than 30 years. She is a fierce advocate for construction worker rights, including fair wage issues.

Mentoring & Apprenticeship Programs

Our founder, Cindy Athey, has previously served as a Chief Instructor with both Fairfax County and Associated Builders and Contractors Metro for over 10 years. As a three-time recipient of the Department of Labor award for Apprenticeship Graduates, she continues to support the development of apprentices with a certified DC apprenticeship program, which provides District residents and others with an opportunity to learn the painting trade and develop a long-term career path. She also participates as a mentor and trainer in several workforce development programs, including Capital Guardian Youth Challenge Academy, Marian Berry Summer Youth Employment Program and Run Hope Work.
